New Writing for Live Performance

Rehearsed Reading

Wordsmithery is a new writing competition developed by 509 Arts with Kala Sangam, Bradford Producing Hub and Mind the Gap.The competition was designed for Bradfordians aged 16+ who want to write for live performance.

The closing date was at the end of August and we have had a fantastic response.

Our competition judges are two nationally-produced Bradford playwrights – Nick Ahad and Emma Adams. The four winning writers will receive a £350 cash prize, professional mentoring and a rehearsed reading of their script.

Join us on October 20th to celebrate Bradford’s talent and hear the winning 20 minute scripts brought to life in a staged reading. It’s your chance to hear and support Bradford voices.

Mark your calendar and bring your friends to a night of literary excellence. We look forward to seeing you at Mind the Gap Studios to share the joy of storytelling.

It’s free, but spaces are limited.
